[SOLVED] Easify V3 - Invoice can skip numbers if Windows crashes or on power loss

If you are using Easify V3 and have Microsoft SQL Server 2012 installed, if Windows crashes or you suffer a power loss and do not have a UPS protecting your computer, Easify V3 may skip invoices numbers the next time you raise an order.

This is caused by a change that Microsoft made in SQL Server 2012.

Note: This scenario does not affect users who run their Easify Database on a computer running Windows XP. And does not affect users running SQL Servers prior to SQL Server 2012.

No data is lost in this scenario, typical symptoms are that you notice that your Order Numbers (Invoice numbers) have jumped by 1000 since last time you used Easify.

To fix this there is a workaround whereby you can disable the Microsoft feature that causes skipping of numbers when SQL Server is not cleanly shutdown.

Note: This issue has been fixed in Easify Version 4 by means of a patch.

To prevent this happening in Easify V3, on the computer that is your Easify Server (the computer where your Easify Database is located), click the Windows Start button and type config.

When SQL Server Configuration Manager appears in the list, click it.

Then right click SQL Server (EASIFY) and select properties.

Select the Startup Parameters tab, and enter -t272 in the parameter box.

Click the Add button.

Click OK.

Restart your computer.

From here onwards, a Windows crash or power loss on your Easify Server will no longer cause Order numbers to be skipped.
