Feature pack 8 News

Hello folks,

I thought it was high time I put out an update about the eagerly awaited Feature Pack 8 (FP8)...

We were hoping for a March release date for FP8 but due to the complexity of our new Paperwork Designer (where you get to fully customise all of your public facing paperwork such as invoices & POs etc...) we have had to delay the release. It seems the more features we added, the more features we needed to add.

Currently we don't have a firm release date, testing the new software is quite a dynamic process and we don't know exactly what issues we will have to overcome until we encounter them. In the software business we call them "Rumsfelidan Unknowns" - or "The things that we don't know we don't know".

Anyway, I digress

The new code is complete now all apart from a few minor tweaks and changes. We are currently testing the code thoroughly and hope to have FP8 out within the next few weeks.

If you are in our Beta testing programme we hope to get you the early access version in around 2 weeks time, FP8 will probably follow 2 weeks after that.

Sorry that things are still "dynamic" with FP8 but bear with us and we will get the new code to you ASAP!

I will leave this announcement unlocked so please feel free to reply with any comments or questions directly related to the release of FP8

Re: Feature pack 8 News

Hello folks,

Another quick update on FP8...

During testing we've encountered a few areas of code that needed to be modified to support the new paperwork designer (mainly POS related stuff).

We spent a couple of weeks adding the new code and are back underway with testing.

At this point the code can be considered 100% complete and is working very nicely.

We have a small amount of testing to do here before we release the Beta version to those of you that have signed up as Beta testers. The release version should follow a couple of weeks after that.

Thanks for bearing with us, and we promise to have the new code with you very soon

Re: Feature pack 8 News

Hello folks,

Testing for this release has taken way longer than we anticipated, but the good news is that the new code has been released for internal use here which is the first step towards releasing the code.

We have 6 minor bugs to fix before we release the beta version to our partners, and subject to the beta testing going well the public release will follow shortly after that. Our anticipated schedule is Monday 14th July for beta release and Monday 21st July for public release.

I will keep you posted

Re: Feature pack 8 News

Hi folks,

We've just upgraded our version of Easify to 3.81.0.0 and there are a couple of issues we've noticed:

1. pressing ESC no longer closes the POS

2. The cashbook no longer shows a "Total In - Total Out" figure

Anything we can do to rectify these?

Thanks
