Re: Post your feature requests for FP6

Would like to see qty's of SKU's in stock for POS screen to eliminate mispicks and make sure correct SKU is invoiced. It is too easy to sell something where there is no physical stock and if this is the case a negative qty is not produced.
A warning would be good if you wanted to take payment for a special order which was not in stock at the time but wanted to give the customer an invoice.

I find the drag and drop feature frustrating and time consuming, the windows are always in the wrong place. Can we have easy look up from 'Orders & Quotes' for example of SKU's with a search and select feature as in POS. This could apply to customers as well and in 'Purchases' to search for supplier and SKU's.
You asked for suggestions!

Haha, no problem - please keep them coming thick and fast
Will look into implementing a customer picker, would be a handy additional way of adding customers.
Did you know you can already use a product picker for orders & quotes? If you open an order or quote, you can press F3 (or click the toolbard button) to bring up a product picker as in the POS system. Type in all or part of the product name and hit enter to add it to your order. You can also directly add products to orders by typing their SKU number into the 'Add Product by SKU' text box.

Hi Richard, thanks for that, I didn't know about the F3 look up, that helps. The button next to the 'add product by SKU doesn't work?
Would be handy to have customer look up. Also SKU and supplier look up for purchases.

You will need to type a SKU code into the 'Add item by SKU' box first. Incidentally this is a handy way to use a barcode scanenr in the backend. Open the order details, click in the 'Add item by SKU' text box so the cursor is in it, scan a barcode and the product will be added to the order.
Will definitely add the customer picker to our wishlist, not sure if we will get it in for FP6 but would definitely be a good mod to do!

Can't immediately find an earlier request related to this. At the moment you can duplicate an Order from the Orders & Quotes listing. Personally I think this would be better accomplished via the Customers Screen from the listing of previous orders, or either/both ways? Also it would be useful if it were possible to duplicate a previous order but then allocate it to a different customer. Not sure about others but we are often required to change the 'customer' - our local council is particularly good at that

Hi Peter, yes I think this was mentioned before but was in relation to creating a new order from the main customers window. We've already added thi sfacility and it's ready for teh next release.
It wouldn't take much to extend this to be able to create copies of orders from the order history on the customers window too, so will probably add that functionality in too.
If you create a copy of an order, you can change the customer on it by dragging a new customer to the duplicated order. That functionality exists now
PS. FP6 is going to be some way off, so we will probably release a minor update before then and incorporate some of your feature requests before FP6
