Product Status
Each product on an order can be assigned a status or state that helps you to keep track of the life cycle of the product as you fulfil your orders.
For example the status of each line of an order tells you whether the item is being purchased, is on order, is waiting for parts or a combination of different states.
If you are not using Bill of Materials, the only statuses that are relevant are those for a simple product.
When using Bill of Materials, the product status for components of a parent assembly will be automatically updated to reflect the status of that item as it goes through the purchasing and manufacturing process.
The statuses that are available for a given line item on an order vary depending on what type the item is. Below is a summary of which states apply to which types of item.
