Re: Post your feature requests for FP6

Would it be possible to assign 'current logged on user' to a new job or purchase order automatically, rather than remembering to assign users manually?

We could consider making this a configurable option as not everyone would want to be auto assigned to orders/purchases.

Certainly makes sense to me and I would add to that - someone really does need to be assigned to every Job else it fails to display. My thought would be that I like the auto-asignment of the person posting the Job but it might help you cover all bases if it is configurable to be say Administrator by selection?

Talking of saving keystrokes the constant necessity to reassure the programe that we really meant to do the preceding action is a little tiresome...

Hi Peter, I would agree that the constant need to 'apply' whenever you make any changes is frustrating but I would imagine it is to update the server so that there is no data loss? Would be better though if all changes could be applied when you hit the O.K. button when you have finished. Perhaps Richard can confirm?

Yes, the need to apply changes is partly due to architecture at this stage. We need to make sure that for certain actions to stay synchronised we have the changes applied back to the server. One example of this is when you've raised a new order, we need to apply it in order to obtain an order number before we do other things.

We're always streamlining the process however and are determined to reduce the amount of clicking you have to do over a period of time. Likewise we are keen to avoid unneccessary prompts, nag screens and general disruption to the workflow of Easify.

On a separate note, if you use Easify on a network with many users working on it at once, it is actually a good habit to "Apply often". The reason being that Easify prevents two users from overwriting each others data when working on the same order at teh same time by means of Optimistic Concurrency (OC). If you have an order open for a long period of time while you're workign on it, someone else might open the order, and save some changes to it. When you then go to save your order teh system won't let you because the order has changed since you opened it. By regularly applying (saving your changes) you lower the risk of OC kicking in and preventing you from saving.

Re: Post your feature requests for FP6

Hi there,

Could I suggest a way to turn off the email notifications when using the internal notes.

Also, it would be nice to be able to append an internal note rather than starting a new one.

Hi Legrant and welcome to the forums

When you're entering an internal note, you can un-tick assigned users that you don't want to receive the email copy if that helps? Note though if you have setup the users Easify account to 'Always receive a copy of internal notes') they cannot be de-selected in this way. In that case you could change their account not to always receive a copy if internal notes via email, and then you can tick/untick them in the internal note as desired. Users that are assigned to an order will automatically be selected to receive a copy of internal notes for that order.

Good idea to be able to append internal notes, we could also look at the ability for the author to edit them to.

Re: Post your feature requests for FP6

I would like to be able to run a sales report that was split into times of the day to see the busy and quiet time, for example 0900 - 1000, then 1000 - 1100 etc, just a list with a total for each hour of the day
