Re: eBay Channel Connector - work in progress...

A quick update on the eBay connector progress...

Last week we hit a problem with the eBay sandbox, which is the dummy website that eBay provides where we can test our code before it goes into production. To cut a long story short, the eBay sandbox is quite flaky at the best of times, and their support is pretty slow so we had to wait a while until they could resolve the issues they were having.

Testing is now going well, and we're just going over the final tweaks to make sure everything is to our liking.

We found the other day that we need to add some more configuration to our UI, which is the ability to specify item Location and Postcode. We were hopeful that eBay would be able to take this information from the seller account, but apparently it needs to be provided with each item that is listed. We will make it so that the item location and postcode can be set once in the global Easify eBay configuration, and if you need to override the value on a per item basis you will be able to do so.

We'll get the UI changes made in the next day or two and will resume the final testing.

It's also likely that we will be releasing an Easify update before the eBay code goes properly live, this will include the product multi-image capability, and also a number of performance improvements.

Stay tuned for further updates...

Re: eBay Channel Connector - work in progress...

We've finished the first set of "Flight Tests" which is where we are first able to test the new code in its entirety and things are looking good.

The new error notification code I mentioned previously is now working, and we're about to get the first live system setup.

We've still got a bit of tweaking to do on the UI where you configure your eBay selling options, as you can imagine the eBay selling UI is quite complex and eBay has loads of rules relating to how you can sell products in various categories, so we need to make sure that your experience in Easify is as smooth as possible.

I'll post an update about how it goes with the first live installation in the next few days...

Re: eBay Channel Connector - work in progress...

Today we got the first "Live" installation of the new eBay Connector up and running and it's currently being used to run a real live business.

We've still got some tweaks to do to the UI and we're working through minor bugs as they arise, but it's looking good at the moment and we're looking forward to getting it released as soon as we've nailed the last of the bugs and created a tutorial video as to how to get it all setup.

Thanks Andy, I appreciate your support, encouragement and feedback over the years

I will send you a free (lifetime) eBay connector subscription in the next few days, if you could email me a copy of the Easify Server logs for the Easify Server you'd like to use it on I can get it associated with your Easify Server. You can get to the Easify Server logs via Easify Server Manager, and if you could email it to support@easify.co.uk I will be able to grab it from there...

Re: eBay Channel Connector - work in progress...

Testing has been going very well with the eBay connector, the fact that we've had some of the code working in a live beta test (prototype) stage for well over a year has paid dividends and we've had relatively few problems in using the new code in a live environment.

We're pretty much calling it done with the phase 1 development, and all that's left to do before we release the eBay connector is to create a modification to the WooCommerce plugin in order for it to be compatible with the new version of Easify (support for multiple product images), and to get the help documentation uploaded.

Hopefully we'll be able to get the eBay connector released middle of next week.

Have a great weekend all

Re: eBay Channel Connector - work in progress...

Hello all,

Another slight delay to the proceedings due to the eBay Sandbox (Test site) having been inaccessible for the past 10 days or so. This is preventing us from finishing the final tests and bug fixes at present and we've been having to test against the live eBay servers which isn't ideal (because it limits how savage we can be with the testing).

As soon as eBay are able to get their test site functional again we can carry on with the final tweaks.

Re: eBay Channel Connector - work in progress...

We continued to be hampered by issues with the eBay sandbox and eBay are remaining silent on the issue. However we managed to switch to another test platform so we're once again cooking on gas.

A slight detour this week while we re-coded the part of the Easify eBay channel user interface to make it much easier for you to connect Easify to eBay, we did away for the need to manually enter the eBay API token and server URLs, and replaced it with a single button that does the linkage for you. All you need to do is log into the eBay website when prompted and voila.

We've got a few minor bugs to fix that have cropped up during testing, so all things being well the first release will be early next week.
