Definitely cheaper than any other else. But sure it has a short life after all. Seems like it cant have what it takes to be in both world. You know what I mean..

Very true, can't have it both ways 

We find that some of the cheaper printers can be very expensive on consumables so it's definitely worth pricing up the media. We've seen some printers where the labels cost 10p each, whereas other can be well under a penny each.

Also worth considering print speed, more expensive printers are often quicker at printing, so if you need 50 labels in a hurry a more expensive printer can save money in the long run by being faster at getting the labels out.

As you rightly say cheaper printers tend to wear out faster, so definitely an area where it's best to spend as much as you can afford!
