Re: EAN Codes not recognised
Hi Paul,
Best not to emulate EAN numbers, as they are created to be unique to specific products. Though unlikely you might find that you end up clashign with an EAN that has been issued to another product.
Also EAN's are printed in a special format that we don't use for our product label printing.
When you print a price label in Easify, the barcode is actually the product SKU, this is unique to Easify and will be recognised when you scan it into Easify. If the product you are selling already has an EAN barcode, you can enter that barcode into the EAN field of the product in Easify (scan it into the EAN text box is easiest) and Easify will then associate that EAN code with that product.
3 of 9 Barcode (also known as Code 39) is an industry standard barcode font, and will be recognised by practically any barcode scanner. Most barcode scanner recognise a variety of fonts and formats so you should be able to scan EANs and Code 39 barcodes without having to reconfigure anything.
Check with your scanner userguide though to make sure it is set to recognise Code 39 (most scanners will recognise code 39 straight out of the box).
So in summary, just let Easify print its own barcodes on price labels and it will recognise these when scanned. If a product has an EAN number, you can enter this against the product in Easify and then scan the EAN or the Easify price label barcode.
