[SOLVED] When attempting to attach paperwork to an Outlook email, get Cannot create ActiveX component error.

When you try to attach paperwork such as a PDF copy of an Invoice, Delivery Note, Purchase Order etc... to an Outlook Email from Easify, you get the following error (or similar):

System.Exception: Cannot create ActiveX component.

at Microsoft.VisualBasic.Interaction.CreateObject(String ProgId, String ServerName)

at Easify.frmEasifyReportForm.EmailReportViaOutlook()

This can be caused if Easify is running with different privileges than Microsoft Outlook.

To resolve this, try running Easify as an Administrator by right clicking the Easify Shortcut and selecting Run as Administrator.

If you can now attach paperwork to emails in Easify, it means that there was a privileges mismatch between Easify and Outlook, probably caused by Outlook being run as administrator.

Re: [SOLVED] When attempting to attach paperwork to an Outlook email, get Cannot create ActiveX component error.

Another cause of this problem can be when the Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.dll in your Easify Pro Client installation folder is outdated.

You can download the latest dll here - http://storage.easify.co.uk/easify-downloads/Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.dll

And copy it to your Easify Pro V4 installation folder which is typically at C:\Program Files (x86)\Easify\Client\

Note: Make sure after downloading the file, you right click it, select Properties and select the Unblock options.

Note that Easify V4.41 and later versions include the latest Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.dll, so if you are running Easify V4.41 or later you do not need to manually download this dll.
