Delivery/Installation charges

What is the best way for me to charge a delivery/installation charge? I was initially going to set delivery/installation up as a product and choose this when it is required when I need to invoice our customer. But my manager doesn't want these charges to be included in the monthly sales reports as a "sale". Is there a way of charging delivery/installation but for this to been shown separately to the sale of products? Many Thanks

Re: Delivery/Installation charges

As most users like to be able to track delivery charges in their financial reports, hiding delivery items in the financial reports is not possible.

We recommend you create a category to hold your delivery charges as separate products, each delivery item should have Stock Control disabled (option found under the Stock Levels tab when editing a product) as delivery is generally a service and not a stockable product.

You could however make your own reports in a programme like Microsoft Excel or Access. Here is a link to a video that guides you on how to link Excel to the Easify database:

Hi John - Many thanks for your reply, this was the way I was going to do it, just another question then, can the delivery been shown on the monthly sales report as a separate line and not as a stock sale?

Re: Delivery/Installation charges

I'd suggestion using the following report that gives you the sales report but broken down by product categories:

'Reports > Finance > Sales by Product Category'

Out next update will include a Product Sales History feature that will allow you to export the sales data into a spread sheet format. For more about the next update please check here.
