Pole Display Scrambled text

I have a problem with my pole display (Digipos) scrambling/offsetting the text.

We are still test driving the software and its often switched off/on, Easify is often closed down/re-opened.

Could it be an issue with how we are starting the software/hardware up? or is it how we are setting up the text?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Bathworx,

Do you have a model number for the pole so we can look into this for you?

Thanks

Re: Pole Display Scrambled text

Thanks Chris,

It sounds like the pole display is set to use the wrong character set (codepage).

You can download the WD-202 Pole Display Manual here - go to page 9 where it talks about setting the DIP switches.

Make sure that the switches SW4, SW5, SW6, SW7 are set to OFF, OFF, ON, ON - this will tell the pole to use the PC-850 (UK) character set.

Can you try that and let me know if it works?

Re: Pole Display Scrambled text

HI, Dip switches are set as described, on boot up it says uk char set in use.

I will try and get some pictures of the text.

Re: Pole Display Scrambled text

In that case it could be the com port settings - worth checking that the DIP switches are set to match the com port baud rate, parity etc... of the com port on the PC.

Re: Pole Display Scrambled text

:D If you have a look on page 9 of the manual, tables 5.2 and 5.3 list the settings for the serial port that the pole display is plugged into.

Usually these settings should be 9600 Baud rate and No parity, 8 data bits.

SW8 = OFF, SW9 = ON, SW10 = ON.

However it does depend on what settings you have on the COM Port in Windows. If you go into Windows device manager, find the COM Port that you have plugged the pole into and look at it's properties. The settings must match the DIP switch settings on the pole.

Let me know if you need any help with that.

Re: Pole Display Scrambled text

Ok, have checked all settings apart from "Command Type" Its currently set to "ESC/pos"

sw1 off

sw2 on

sw3 on

but there are lots of options for this and I dont know what they are! (Table 5.1 of the manual)

p.s. Now a paid up user, so I hope I can get it to work!

Re: Pole Display Scrambled text

Thanks - I'm sure we can get you up and running

ESC/POS is a command protocol that is usually used on thermal receipt printers.

CD5220 is a model of pole made by Partnertech - which is the model that we sell via our online shop.

So I'd say try setting the pole to CD5220 mode sw1, sw2, sw3 all off.

Let me know how you get on and we can continue from there.
