F3 product search in EPOS

Hello Guys,

downloaded the new version and when using the F3 product search in EPOS the search takes at least 30 seconds to load items and then another ten seconds each time you type in a letter.

It used to be fast and efficient method of finding the SKU for larger items.

Any suggestions as to why this is or how to correct it?

Also when inputing new customer details on the our client machine(till) using EPOS we get an error of invalid value, which we don't get on the server machine in EPOS.

Well done on getting the new version out on time.

Hi Paul,

Could be that the new code displays live stock levels in the product picker. You can disable this in the Options http://www.easify.co.uk/help/hs405.aspx - can you try that and let me know if it speeds things up?

Will look into the customer error you mentioned...

disabled that in the tools/options before posting this request. Has made no differance to the speed.

Hi Paul, thanks for letting me know. I'm not aware of any changes that would have affected the speed other than the live stock levels.

It might be that the stock level checks are still being done in the background even if disabled. Will look into this and get back to you shortly if this is the case

Hi Paul,

We've done a bit of performance tuning on the F3 product picker (both in the POS and back end).

It's now virtually instantaneous when loading 13,000 products. Have also enhanced the searching so that the search will recognise multiple words. So searching for "pink bag" will return results that include "nice shiny pink velour bag".

(assuming you stock pink velour bags).

Update should be avaiable for download later today on our website.
