We have 50% of are goods z rated so have to do a end of day and sales report each day to break it down to standard and z rated sales. On the sales report it often shows a sale as z reated but has a vat amount so i have to go into the cashbook for that day and break it down, is there a way of the reports doing this

Hi Jowo,
Yes, take a look at the "File > Export > Sales..." menu item. This should give you a break down of VAT on sales in a given date range.

We've also got a modification to the cashbook coming out in a few weeks whereby you can view (and export to CSV) a breakdown of the VAT content of each transaction, it will also show when you have sold zero rated items.
There's also a new 'Export Everything' feature where you can export all sales and purchases for a time period. This also includes the ability to have a column for each VAT type along with the VAT value per column, and allows you to see which orders had a zero rated VAT content and which orders had no zero rated VAT.
