Postcode Lookup Failed. The operation has timed out

Postcode Lookup Failed

If you get the following error message when trying to use the postcode lookup facility in Easify on Windows XP:

"Postcode Lookup Failed. The operation has timed out"

There are two likely causes:

  • Your firewall is blocking the connection to our server.
  • You are running an outdated copy of Windows XP that uses Internet Explorer 6.0.

To resolve the firewall issue, please add a rule that allows Easify to communicate with the internet.

Specifically over port 443. If you are not sure please contact Easify support so one of our support engineers can assist you.

To resolve the outdated copy of XP issue:

Please perform all available Windows updates and make sure that Internet Explorer has been updated to at least version 8. You may also need to enable the following option "Windows Control Panel > Internet Options > Advanced > Use TLS 1.0". Again, if you are not sure please contact Easify support so one of our support engineers can assist you.
