Mass editing 'Locations' via import

Hello,

I need to edit the location of all 3800 items in our product catalogue,

Is it possible to edit this in the .csv export and then re-import?

I noticed it did not allow me to map the location box on the import but if there is an alternative way it would be great!

Also, is it possible to edit the description in the same way?

I saw that I could map the description box but it was giving me warnings that the description was different from before and could cause data corruption, which I obviously do not want.

I did try ringing technical support but there was only people covering the line and unfortunately they could not help me.

Thanks!

Re: Mass editing 'Locations' via import

If when you import from CSV you also import the SKU column, Easify will know that the product already exists and will update the product details rather than add it as a new product and duplicate it.

When you preview your imported data in the Easify importer, the Action column will tell you whether the row of data will be Updated of Added as New. Your best bet is to map your columns, then preview the import and check to see what Easify intends to do with your data before importing it.

Also make sure you do a backup in Easify before importing your data, that way you can restore back if the import doesn’t go according to plan.

In a nutshell, the Easify importer will update imported products if they already exist.

If you get a warning, the data will still import OK - just that the warning is bringing something to your attention. If you get an error on a row then it will not import. You could try importing a single row from your CSV file to see what happens if you are unsure about how it will import.

Alternatively you can practice importing data on the Easify Demo database to make sure you've got it all setup Ok.

Please also be aware that importing of product locations is a feature that was first introduced in V3.64.
