Epson display com port error

Hello, love the software but I've got a few issues if you can help.

I have an Epson DM110 and TM88V printer connected using the passthrough setup via serial on com1. I've used the Epson driver to install the two devices and also tried using the generic windows drivers but keep getting the attached message when opening up Easify. They work fine together when I test on other software. Will I have to connect the two devices on separate com ports, or is there another way to resolve this?

Also, when I print it stops before completing the entire receipt (halfway through the VAT number line on the default receipt template). I've added 10,13,10,13,10,13,10,13,27,109 commands to the post print command field which then gives me a complete receipt - but is there a cleaner way to do this.

Edit:I've separated the two, attached the printer by usb and the display by serial. The display is recognised now, but the alignment of the text isn't right. The welcome message is missing the first character; when adding items to the sale in the POS screen, the display isn't cleared first so the second line intermingles with the end of the first, then it gets worse the more items are added. It's like the start point needs to be moved 1 place to the right to make it align properly.

Edit: Sorted the receipt length out with this code 27,100,10,27,109 - gives 10 extra lines after the print then cuts the paper.

Re: Epson display com port error

Hi chrishem and welcome to the forums.

We suggest using this code in the 'Post Print Command' box: 27,100,12,29,86,0,48

It feeds additional lines and cuts the paper (if your printer has that capability). This works with our recommended thermal receipt printer (sold on our website) as well as having been reported as working with some Epson printers.

With regards to your pole display issues, this is likely a compatibility issue due to us not having developed the pole display code with your particular model. One of my colleagues is more a guru on pole displays and would be a better person to postulate on the possible issues. He is away on leave this week, so I shall highlight this post with him on his return.

Thanks John, the receipt prints good with those codes, hopefully the display issue can be fixed next week.

Hi John, any news from your colleague on addressing the Epson pole display issue?

Re: Epson display com port error

Hi Chrishem, I've got the manual for your pole display... Will have a dig around in the code to see if there are any reasons for the symptoms you described.

Will post here once I've had a look for you.

Re: Epson display com port error

Hi Chrishem,

Have had a look through the pole display code, and there are a few changes we can make here to improve the all-round compatibility of Easify with various makes of pole displays.

We are long overdue for an update release of Easify to address a number of issues that have been resolved since the last release so we'll look at overhauling the pole display code and getting it out to you as soon as we can. No idea of release date for the update but it's going to be a few weeks at least.

Re: Epson display com port error

That's great news Richard, thanks for looking into this for me. Hopefully the issue can be resolved and we can start using your software in our shops soon.

I've been trying out some of the other epos software packages out there whilst waiting on this issue and found Easify the most comprehensive and easy to use package by far. I love the fact it uses Microsoft SQL and to find you use Crystal for the reporting was fantastic  . Keep up the good work.
