Configuring Easify Remote Access

For maximum security, remote access in Easify is disabled by default.

In order to access your Easify Server remotely you will need to carry out the following steps to allow remote access:

  1. Ensure the Easify Server you want to remotely connect to is authorised to allow Remote Connections.
  2. Ensure the user that is to be authorised to discover the Easify Server has an Easify Website user account and a valid Easify Pro User License subscription.
  3. Add the users Easify Website username to the Remote Access tab of the users details in Easify Pro.
  4. Ensure your Easify Server has been published through your firewall router so that it is accessible via the internet.

We will now discuss these steps in more detail.

  1. Authorising an Easify Server for Remote Connections

    Easify Servers by default are only authorised to accept connections from Easify Clients on your local network. If you want to allow your server to be accessible remotely via the internet you will need to make sure you have authorised it for remote connections.

  2. Creating an Easify Website Account

    To create an Easify Website account the user simply needs to visit the Easify Website and create an Easify account.

    The email address that is registered with the Easify Website will be used in the next step to associate the Easify Website user account with your Easify Server.

    NOTE: The user that will remotely connect to your Easify Server must also have a valid Easify Pro User License subscription. These are available from our online shop.
  3. Adding the users website username to the Easify user settings

    This step authorises the user to discover and access the Easify Server remotely.

    To associate the users Easify Website account with their local Easify account, log into Easify Pro with an account that has permission to edit other users details and enter the users Easify Website username in the Easify Website Account tab.

  4. Publishing your Easify Server through your firewall router

    For security reasons, you will need to allow your Easify Server to be accessed via the internet through your internet firewall router.

TIP: You can test whether your Easify Server has been successfully published for remote access by logging into the Easify Website, and attempting to connect to your Easify Server using Easify Web.
