Sale price changes with cost price increase by margin

Is there any way round this?

Every time I key in a new cost price I first have to write down our existing sale price before I start.

Why does the sale price change in relation to the margin set rather than the percentages changing with the existing retail price staying the same?

Doesn't give you the scope to consider anything?!! could there not be a field to hold existing price while you examine the figures ???

Re: Sale price changes with cost price increase by margin

All prices are calculated from the cost price and margin.

Therefore changing either of these values will directly affect the Trade and Retail pricing.

I have added a review item to our system with your comments to see if our developers can come up with something for the scenario you mentioned.

Thanks John,

In the retail industry it's not like ..say construction - where you set your margin that you require to run your business / cost a job and where the fluctuation in price has a direct link to retail/trade prices.

In retail the majority of the time you have more than just the cost price to consider..the final price that you have on your on-line shop will be influenced by competitors etc so you have to play around with the figures before deciding on your final retail price..it's common for you to accept a fluctuation in margins rather than a fluctuation in price...

Many thanks
