Final Invoice field changable

Hi there,

In our existing system we have 3 fields for invoice totals.. Invoice total and Tax total are calculated fields but we also have a field that we can manually change as your calculated total does not always match your invoice total when you are splitting up boxes of stock and you are loosing fractions of pence..

It then tallies with the actual amount that you have to pay from the bank..

So for example I have an invoice that once keyed onto the Easify system works out to be 364.90 but the invoice total is really 364.63

I know it is only pennies but I do like things to be correct - is there any way round this????

Thanks y'all..

MC

Re: Final Invoice field changable

As there are many different tax models out there, all giving a slightly different amount of tax on an order, we have allowed users to change the tax amount of each purchase order manually so that it can match the invoice your suppliers send you.

Re: Final Invoice field changable

It's not a tax issue!! it's a rounding issue.. if there are a lot of items on an invoice that are rounded down(Because we are entering items as singles) then you loose pence with each item - it doesn't always balance out...

are there any ideas to how to make your invoice total match the entry that goes to the bank????

Thoughts??

Re: Final Invoice field changable

If you have found a rounding issue, we'd be interested in you sending us a backup copy of your database as well as a description of where to find it so that we might investigate.

Below is a link to a forum post that describes how Easify calculates VAT, which is based on the ticket price VAT model rather than a sub total VAT model. This means products with small unit prices and a quantity larger than one can be rounded up more frequently than if you have large unit prices. This is a perfectly accepted method of calculating VAT supported by the HMRC.
