Copying an order, protecting a previous price change
When customers re-order we like to copy the previous job. However if we have amended the price last time the copy uses the default SKU price. Also if we want to check what the price was last time we have to print an invoice to be sure.
I would like to suggest that every time an order is created with an amended price that this price is protected and the user invited to record the reason/circumstance.
If the order is opened later or copied there should be a warning that the price was amended on a particular date and that the current sku price is ... . Any note could also be displayed.
The price should NOT be altered automatically; a copy should be completed without change so that the user must choose to go back in and make a change if required.
To give you background information why this can be useful:
We have a small printing business. When we started using Easify we tried working out the cost and price of individual leaflets but soon saw it was unworkable. Therefore we created individual products, such as 50 A5 leaflets, colour 1 side on 150gsm gloss, 50 A5 leaflets colour both sides on 150gsm gloss... As you can imagine this can quickly get unmanageable. To make matters worse we sometimes manage to buy in 'clearance' paper which we might sell at a cheaper price. We don't want to create a new product so might copy an existing product and change the cost/price and add a comment. Also for one-off low value jobs we simply use a generic product called Print and set price as we need it. We can not be sure whether the order is truly one-off or if someone will come back months later saying: "remember you did... ". We want to be able to copy the previous order with confidence.
